Meet Your Hostesses
Howdy! We’re Alix and Dottie, two goofy mamas with a passion for fashion and awesome design. We love vintage clothing, but we know that’s not always practical for your wee one (polyester onesies aren’t exactly cozy). We try our best to find clothing, toys and goodies with a retro sensibility—bold colors, cool patterns and smart design. We know kids look cute in whatever you dress them in, but who says we can’t have a little fun along the way?
“Um, what’s with the horns gals?” Glad you asked! We’re both proud members of San Francisco’s premier synchronized 60s-style go-go dance group The Devil-Ettes! (nothing too saucy, mind you— we’re rated PG-13. They don’t call us San Francisco’s Sweethearts for nothin’!) Catch a show and you just might see our alter egos, The Starlet and The Smarty Pants, shakin’ and shimmying the night away!
Modern Kiddo is dedicated to our two little fashion muses, Wolfgang (aka Wolfie) and Georgia (aka The Peach).
